Norway’s HAV Group has signed the ultimate contract to design and equip one other methanol-fuelled offshore wind service operation vessel (SOV) for the Danish offshore vessel proprietor ESVAGT.
HAV Group stated Monday it had signed the ultimate contract with ESVAGT’s chosen shipyard, Cemre Shipyard in Turkey
HAV Group will ship each the ship design and an built-in tools package deal, together with the propulsion system, engines, propellers, and positioning system. The complete contract worth for HAV is round roughly NOK 200 million (at present round $20 million).

The newbuild hybrid vessel is of HAV 833 SOV design. The vessel will be equipped with a methanol-electric propulsion system, including a battery pack that allows very low to zero-emissions operations.
The SOV shall be 93 meters lengthy and 19.6 meters large and can be capable of accommodate as much as 124 individuals. The primary objective of the SOV is to securely switch technicians and spare components to and from wind generators and offshore substations.
Upon completion, the vessel will become an integral part of Ørsted’s UK East Coast Hub.
