Cold Morning on the Chesapeake
It was a really chilly morning on the east coast of the United States right this moment because the jet stream dipped deep into the southern states bringing with it single digit temperatures. In Annapolis, Maryland this morning, it was 9 levels once I awoke, 5 levels shy of the document set in 1970.
For vessels heading out and in of Baltimore and down Chesapeake Bay, it’s simply one other day with an added little bit of ice accumulation on the bow.
Maryland ship pilot Mark Baummer, a ’98 grad from SUNY Maritime, sends us the next pic right this moment of Moran’s Jennifer Turecamo sporting a recent coat of ice on the bow.
