Svitzer Arthur is the primary of six ASD tugs ordered by Svitzer to help its rising Brazilian operations

Brazil’s Estaleiro Rio Maguari (ERM) shipyard has delivered its first ASD (azimuthing stern drive) tug, the Svitzer Arthur. Designed by Robert Allan Ltd., it’s the first of a sequence of six tugs of the identical RAmparts 2300-ERM design at present underneath development on the shipyard for Svitzer Brazil.

Propulsion equipment consists two MTU 16V4000M63 foremost diesels and two Kongsberg US205S FP, 2,800 mm diameter Z-drives
