NYK Group’s Hokuyo Kaiun has obtained certifications from ClassNK for the security administration system (SMS) of its crew transport vessel (CTV) for the offshore wind business.
The certifications, ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018, had been obtained by combining the expertise of Hokuyo Kaiun, which operates and manages the CTV Rera As for the Ishikari Bay New Port offshore wind farm in Hokkaido Prefecture, with the data of NYK.
This certification will allow Hokuyo Kaiun, which primarily operates towing vessels in Japan, to function and handle CTVs utilizing an SMS compliant with worldwide requirements, thereby guaranteeing an excellent larger degree of security in vessel operations.

Rera AS CTV was delivered to Siemens Gamesa for the Ishikari Bay New Port offshore wind farm in July 2023.
