The timing of the gross sales is linked to the administration’s five-year schedule to supply acreage to grease and fuel corporations for offshore improvement. A provision in Biden’s landmark local weather change regulation, the Inflation Reduction Act, requires that Interior should supply at the least 60 million acres for oil and fuel leasing a yr earlier than issuing an offshore wind lease.
