Bordelon Marine Hopes New Ultra-Light Intervention Vessels Hit Subsea Sweet Spot

Louisiana-based Bordelon Marine has taken supply of the M/V Shelia Bordelon, the second of two new Stingray 260 class Ultra-Light Intervention Vessels (ULIV).

The extremely specialised DP2 vessel was constructed at Bordelon Marine Shipbuilders yard in Houma, LA  and includes a NOV 50 ton Active Heave Compensating crane with 3,000 meters of wire, a mezzanine deck with inner workplace and management rooms, able to supporting two full work class ROV techniques.

The 260-foot M/V Shelia Bordelon additionally presents 6,200 sq. ft. of clear useable deck house, POB of 60, and two unbiased thru-hull USBL techniques. The vessel can be geared up with 4 further under deck Tier 3 mills, offering absolutely redundant energy to the crane and ROV techniques.

The Shelia Bordelon additionally includes a pink stripe and the Susan G. Komen brand, named in honor of Shelia Harasimowicz, Wes Bordelon’s mother-in-law, and two time breast most cancers survivor. Bordelon Marine has dedicated to a yr lengthy marketing campaign to struggle breast most cancers, and plans to donate a portion of the income from the M/V Shelia Bordelon to the New Orleans affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
