Chevron to Lease Space at Edison Chouest’s Base in Brazil
SAO JOAO DA BARRA, Brazil, June 7 (Reuters) – Chevron Corp plans to signal a five-year settlement to lease berthing area for its vessels from U.S. oil service firm Edison Chouest Offshore, Chouest’s head of Brazilian operations Ricardo Chagas stated on Tuesday.
Chouest’s 950-million-real ($275 million) base is situated at Prumo Logistica’s Port of Acu, on the northeast coast of Rio de Janeiro state. It is scheduled to be accomplished by mid-2017, Chouest’s Brazilian head Chagas advised reporters on the port.
Chevron is anticipated to extend its Brazilian offshore operations within the coming 12 months because it launches a brand new offshore subject within the Campos basin.
The firm controls and operates the Frade mission in Campos, which can also be owned by minority companions Petroleo Brasileiro SA, and Frade Brasil, a three way partnership between Inpex Corporation and Sojitz Corporation.
According to Brazil’s oil and fuels regulator ANP, Frade produced 12,079 barrels per day on common final March. ($1 = 3.4485 Brazilian reais) (Reporting by Jeb Blount; Writing by Reese Ewing and Marcelo Teixeira; Editing by Chris Reese)
