On August 14, Conrad Shipyard launched the primary Yard, Repair, Berthing, and Messing (YRBM) barge below building for the U.S. Navy forward of scheduled supply within the first quarter of 2024.
Conrad is presently below contract to construct 5 YRBM barges, which offer a brief residence and office for service women and men whose vessels are in port for repairs and upkeep.
The YRBM barge is an ABS A1 Accommodation Barge with a 151’-4” x 49’-4” x 14’ footprint. The vessel supplies pier aspect residing lodging able to berthing 199 combined gender personnel, messing for 300 personnel, and consists of areas for medical places of work, lecture rooms, workspaces, laundry rooms, storerooms and lounge areas.
The barges are being constructed at Conrad’s Amelia facility in Louisiana.
