EDF Backed EUROGUARD Project Sets Sail in Estonia

The European Defense Fund (EDF)backed EUROGUARD venture has formally kicked off in Estonia as Europe seeks to bolter its sea protection capabilities.

The venture’s main goal is to develop a modular and semi-autonomous floor vessel platform geared up with a distant management system. The initiative goals to boost Europe’s maritime protection capabilities whereas selling cooperation and innovation within the discipline.

The collaborative enterprise includes 23 corporations and analysis establishments from 10 EU member states, together with France, Spain, the Netherlands, Italy, Norway, Denmark, Belgium, Sweden and Estonia, and is spearheaded by the Estonian shipbuilding firm Baltic Workboats. The whole price range for the venture is 95 million euros, with 65 million euros from the EDF and 30 million euros contributed by taking part nations and corporations.
