
Eleven Missing After Cargo Ship Sinks Off the Philippines
Eleven individuals are lacking and feared useless after a Panama-flagged cargo ship sank within the South China Sea off the Philippines, the Philippines Coast Guard has confirmed.
The ship, the MV Fortune Life, is believed to have sank Friday roughly 130 nautical miles West of Vigan City, Philippines.
The Philippines Coast Guard reported that 6 crewmembers of the cargo ship have been rescued by MT Ashley. The Coast Guard up to date Saturday that 8 crewmembers had been rescued and 11 stay lacking.
The Philippines Coast Guard was alerted to the incident by the China MRCC, which obtained a misery name from the ship at 11:20 a.m. Friday.
The 152-meter Fortune Life was reportedly carrying 7,500 metric tons of feldspar from Kaohsiung, Taiwan to Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia.
