Hanjin Heavy Industries Confirms 20,600 TEU Container Ship Orders

Singapore-based Hanjin Heavy Industries confirmed newbuild orders Monday for 3 ultra-large container ships from CMA CGM.

Plans for the 20,600 TEU ships have been first revealed by CMA CGM final month, however the particulars of the order had not but been finalized.

Hanjin says the ships might be constructed on the group’s Subic Shipyard within the Philippines. Delivery is scheduled for the second half of 2017 and the vessel’s might be deployed on its essential Asia-North Europe route. They will measure 400 meters lengthy by 59 meters vast.

  • Mystery Owner (11 ships) – Imabari Shipbuilding stated earlier this yr that it has acquired orders from an unidentified European proprietor for 11 containerships of 20,000+ TEU with supply to start in 2018. The proprietor is rumored to be Evergreen Group and the order has not but been finalized.
