
India Gives Boost to Coastal Shipping
The Government of India has revealed new plans to spice up its coastal transport and cruise tourism industries in an effort to spark develop in its coastal areas.
The new scheme was unveiled in the course of the sixteenth assembly of the the Maritime States Development Council held Monday and hosted by the Union Minister of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways, Mr. Shri Nitin Gadkari.

Minister Gadkari added that the federal government has determined to open up 7 new main ports along with the nation’s present 12 main ports. Construction on two ports has already began, the Minister mentioned.
After the assembly, Minister Gadkari launched a ‘vision document’ for Coastal Shipping, Tourism and Regional Development that units the aim of accelerating the share of coastal transport to 10% of the general transportation of home commerce by 2019-2020 via motion gadgets such because the subsidies and the promotion of cruise tourism.
The new plans have now been despatched to the Union cupboard for approval.
