Inspectors Halt Royal Caribbean Ship in Florida Over Life-Saving Gear
Feb 14 (Reuters)– A Royal Caribbean cruise liner stayed in a Florida port on Tuesday early morning after united state Coast Guard examiners stopped its separation when they discovered a trouble with its life-saving devices, regional media reported.
Majesty of the Seas, a ship that brings greater than 2,000 guests, stayed anchored in Port Canaveral, Florida after it was set up to leave for a Bahamas cruise ship on Monday mid-day, an NBC associate reported.
“We passed our previous inspection but the U.S. Coast Guard would like for us to change the jackets immediately,” Royal Caribbean tweeted late on Monday evening. It was not promptly clear if it was describing emergency situation flotation protection vests.
Several Royal Caribbean guests shared disappointment on the hold-up on Twitter, and also the firm reacted by requesting for their perseverance.
“We couldn’t be more disappointed,” Tweeted Kelsey Graham, that stated that she got on the cruise ship with her granny to commemorate the latter’s 85th birthday celebration.
It is vague the amount of individuals are aboard the 880-foot-long (268-meter-long) ship.
No remark was promptly readily available on Tuesday by telephone from Royal Caribbean head office in Miami prior to service hrs. (Reporting by Brendan O’Brien in Milwaukee Editing by W Simon)
