Malaysian oil and also gas manufacturer Petronas states examinations are on-going right into the reason for the case including the overseas supply Dayang Topaz.

As we reported preciously, 2 staff were eliminated and also 125 leapt too far after the vessel shed its support in damaging climate and also reached an overseas system at the Baram Field situated around 14 maritime miles off the shore of Borneo island in Malaysia.

In overall, there were 187 workers aboard the Dayang Topaz at the time of the mishap.

The Dayang Topaz is possessed by DESB Marine Services Sdn Bhd and also was carrying out functional operate at the Baram system. The vessel cruised to Miri anchorage after the mishap.

“A thorough assessment of the platform structures is being carried out. PETRONAS is committed to undertaking all the necessary measures to ensure that the platform structures remain safe and secure,” an upgrade from Petronas stated on Thursday.

“Preliminary investigations by PETRONAS also revealed that the incident did not cause any impact to the environment. PETRONAS will continue to work with the relevant authorities to monitor the situation and conduct further assessments to ensure any eventuality is addressed swiftly,” the upgrade stated.
