The Waterways Council Inc. (WCI) has appointed Jen Armstrong as director, authorities relations, becoming a member of Dustin Davidson on this function.
Armstrong was most just lately director of navigation coverage and laws for the American Association of Port of Authorities. Prior to that, she was Republican employees director/clerk for the Senate Appropriations Committee’s subcommittee on Energy and Water (E&W) Appropriations, representing Senate Republican pursuits within the growth of the annual $52 billion Energy and Water Development (E&WD) Appropriations invoice which funds the Corps of Engineers’ Civil Works mission, the Bureau of Reclamation, and the Department of Energy.
Previously, she was an expert employees member for the Senate E&W Appropriations Committee, liable for the water portfolio of annual E&WD appropriations invoice. She served as a subject knowledgeable and advisor to members of Congress on issues associated to federal navigation, flood management, environmental restoration, water provide, and hydropower.
Armstrong labored with the Corps of Engineers from 2004-2016 in a wide range of positions together with authorities affairs liaison/program supervisor at Corps’ Headquarters; civil works mission supervisor and navy mission supervisor on the Norfolk District; and civil works interdisciplinary mission/building supervisor for the New Orleans Hurricane Protection Office.
She holds a Bachelor of Science diploma in biology from Old Dominion University.
