Jensen Maritime To Design Two McAllister Escort Tugs
Jensen Maritime has been chosen to design two new escort/rescue tugboats for McAllister Towing.
The boats, to be named Brian A. McAllister and the Rosemary McAllister, can be constructed at Horizon Shipbuilding in Bayou LaBatre, Alabama.
Jensen Maritime can be chargeable for offering detailed design companies for the 12-knot, 6,770-horsepower tugs. The 100-foot lengthy and 40-foot vast boats will make the most of high-efficiency catalytic after-treatment expertise to scale back emissions.
The tugs can be powered by twin Z-drive propulsion items, and may have an approximate bollard pull of 90 quick tons, making them appropriate for offshore service, ship help, escort, maneuvering and docking.
Both tugs can be Load Lined and Classed by the American Bureau of Shipping as +A1, Towing, Escort, +AMS, and FFV-1, Jensen Maritime stated in an announcement.
The two tugboats are anticipated to hitch McAllister’s fleet in 2017.
