MRC uses M/V Mississippi fpr its inspection trips

M/V Mississipi is the most important diesel towboat within the U.S.

The Mississippi River Commission will conduct its annual spring high-water inspection journey on the Mississippi River, March 27- 31, 2023.

The fee will host 4 public conferences onboard the M/V Mississippi in cities alongside the river, with its members assembly with native companions, stakeholders and residents listening to their issues, concepts and points.

Delivered in 1993 by VT Halter Marine, the 241 foot lengthy M/V Mississippi is the most important diesel towboat within the U.S. and spends most of its time as a working towboat for the U.S.Army Corps of Engineers.

Twice a 12 months it serves as an inspection boat for the Mississippi River Commission (MRC) throughout its annual high- and low-water inspection journeys every year. Commissioners maintain conferences within the boat’s listening to room, which might seat 115 folks. Its eating room has a capability of 85 folks.   2. District Commander’s overview for the fee on present venture points within the respective space.
  3. Presentations to the Commission by native organizations and members of the general public with views or feedback on any subject affecting the packages or tasks of the Commission and the Corps of Engineers.

Testimony will probably be accepted for the report till 5:00 p.m., March 31.

Established by Congress in 1879, the fee is headquartered in Vicksburg.
