Waterjet propulsion methods producer Marine Jet Power (MJP), together with its licensed consultant in Taiwan UDC Marine, introduced the continuation of a partnership with Lungteh Shipyard to provide extra Tuo Chiang-class Corvette for Coastal Defense.
The Tuo Chiang-class corvettes have a size of 60.4 meters, displacement of 685 tons, a spread of 1,800 nautical miles, and a most velocity of 43 knots. To date, 4 ships have been accomplished and the extra orders will start manufacturing this fall.
Featuring quad MJP 850 CSU waterjets, the Tuo Chiang-class corvettes are designed for velocity, agility and flexibility. The catamaran hull design enhances stability and effectivity, enabling these corvettes to swiftly maneuver via numerous sea situations. The vessels are engineered to execute a spread of missions, together with coastal protection, anti-surface warfare, anti-air warfare and maritime patrol.
