Back in January we reported that the North Carolina Department of Transportation had put its 1995-built automobile/passenger ferry Thomas A. Baum up for public sale on the state’s surplus property web site. It appears that effort to eliminate the vessel didn’t work out as, immediately, Iron Horse Auction Company of Rockingham, N.C., introduced that it’ll conduct a web-based w/dwell bid heart public sale of the excess ferry.
The Baum holds 30 automobiles and 149 passengers. It was deemed surplus after being changed by a bigger vessel, the Rodanthe, which might carry 10 extra automobiles and twice as many passengers.
The Baum is at present docked in Havelock at Cherry Branch, N.C., the place the dwell public sale will happen on October 13, 2022 at 2:00 PM. Those excited by wanting on the vessel earlier than the public sale are suggested to take action beginning at 10:00 am on October thirteenth, says Iron Horse.
The on-line public sale is scheduled to start October 6, 2022 and conclude on October 13, 2022.
