On the request of Philippine’s Department of Labour and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Silvestre Bello III, the Chinese Coast Guard conducted a search and rescue mission for two days in the Japan waters. But the mission was unsuccessful as there was no trace of the 36 Filipino seafarers in the Japan waters.
The Chinese embassy at Manila in a statement said that the Chinese Coast Guard conducted a search and rescue mission for the missing crew members of Gulf Livestock 1, which capsized earlier this month on 19th and 20th September 2020.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the missing crew members. We will continue to provide necessary assistance as requested by the Philippine side and sincerely hope all of them could be found at the earliest,” said the Chinese Embassy spokesperson.
