
Pirates Kidnap Seven Russian Sailors in Gulf of Guinea

LAGOS, July 20 (Reuters) – Pirates have kidnapped seven Russian sailors from the crew of a ship within the Gulf of Guinea, the Russian Embassy in Nigeria stated on Monday.
The seven Russians have been amongst 13 crew members pirates kidnapped from the Curacao Trader 210 miles off the coast of Benin final Friday, the embassy stated on its official Twitter account, however didn’t present additional particulars.
The transport business has warned in latest months about elevated incidents of piracy and kidnapping within the Gulf of Guinea, significantly round Nigeria.
Pirates this month attacked an oil manufacturing vessel off Nigeria and kidnapped 9 Nigerian nationals.
