
Qatari LNG Tanker Logjam Signals Production Maintenance

MILAN, March 25 (Reuters) – Dozens of liquefied pure fuel (LNG) tankers parked in and round Qatari export amenities – the world’s largest hub for the gas – sign that seasonal upkeep is curbing output, trade sources stated.
Around 25 tankers, all of which have exported LNG from Qatar in current weeks, are sitting idle in anchorage areas close to to the nation’s loading ports, delivery information on Reuters Eikon exhibits.
Several trade sources stated that upkeep on one of many manufacturing vegetation, or trains, at high exporter Qatargas was prone to blame for the logjam of idle vessels.
Qatargas didn’t return requests for remark.
“This is the usual maintenance period (for Qatar) which they operate on a rolling basis,” one LNG dealer stated.
According to Thomson Reuters analysts, Qatar is ready to export 23 % much less LNG this week than it did final week.
Qatar’s two LNG exporting ventures, Qatargas and RasGas, function a rolling schedule of upkeep on manufacturing trains to hold out repairs.
