Record Build for Ulstein Verft Reaches Milestone
An enormous milestone for a report construct on the Ulstein Verft shipyard in Norway.
Last month, the prefabricated aft part of newbuild Yno 302 arrived on the yard following an eleven day tow from the Crist yard in Poland.
Yno 302 is an SX165 design offshore building vessel that will likely be collectively owned by Norway-based shipowner Island Offshore and US-based shipowner Edison Chouest Offshore. The 14,000 DWT vessel will likely be 159.8 meters lengthy with a beam of 30 meters, making it the biggest ship ever constructed at Ulstein Verft.

Yno 302 was ordered as a part of a two-ship order positioned in November 2013 by Island Ventures II, a three way partnership between Island Offshore and Edison Chouest. The second ship within the sequence will likely be constructed at ECO’s Houma, Louisiana, making it the primary Ulstein design ever constructed within the United States.
Interestingly, the yno 302 was redesigned throughout within the engineering section, rising in each size and beam of the vessel from 145.7 meters lengthy and a beam of 28 meters to the scale famous above. Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for supply This autumn 2015.
