Sanctioned North Korean Shipping Firm Still Active, Ships Renamed
UNITED NATIONS, Feb 25 (Reuters) – A U.N.-blacklisted North Korean transport agency has renamed most of its vessels in a bid to disguise their origin and continues illicit shipments in violation of United Nations sanctions, in keeping with a U.N. consultants report seen by Reuters on Wednesday.
In a 76-page report, the U.N. Security Council’s Panel of Experts on North Korea, which displays implementation of U.N. sanctions on Pyongyang, additionally mentioned North Korea “continued to defy Security Council resolutions by persisting with its nuclear and ballistic missile programs.”
It famous that North Korean diplomats, officers and commerce representatives have been enjoying key roles within the unlawful weapons commerce, together with ballistic-missile-related supplies. There is a U.N. arms embargo on Pyongyang that prohibits weapons commerce apart from the availability of small arms to North Korea.
