
Ship Photos of the Day – Building the Marlins, The World’s First LNG Containerships
The second of two Marlin-class containerships was launched over the weekend on the General Dynamics NASSCO shipyard in San Diego the place the vessels are being constructed for TOTE Maritime.
The two ships are the primary containerships on the earth to be powered by liquified pure fuel (LNG), which is able to assist scale back NOx emissions by 98 p.c, SOx by 97 p.c, carbon dioxide by 72 and particulate matter by 60 p.c over the TOTE Maritime’s Ponce Class ships and make them among the many most environmentally pleasant ships of their sort on the earth.
