Ship Photos of the Day – CMA CGM Christens Largest Ship
French container transport firm CMA CGM on Tuesday formally christened its largest ship to this point, the CMA CGM Kerguelen, throughout a ceremony in Le Havre, France.
Measuring 398 meters in size by 54 meters huge, the ship can carry a complete of 17,722 TEUs – a report for the group. CMA CGM Kerguelen is the primary in a sequence of six related vessels to be delivered to the corporate by the tip of 2015.
The ship’s godmother, Catherine Hayot, had the honour of breaking the ceremonial bottle of champagne throughout the ship’s hull as she referred to as out “I hereby christen this vessel CMA CGM Kerguelen. God bless her and all those onboard.”
Catherine Hoyat is spouse of Bernard Hayot, who based the Bernard Hayot group GBH.
CMA CGM is the world’s third largest container transport firm with over 445 vessels and greater than 12.2 million TEUs carried in 2014.
