Siem Platform Supply Vessel Rescues Over 600 Migrants in Mediterranean
A Norwegian offshore vessel rescued over 600 migrants from two picket boats on Monday within the southern Mediterranean Sea.
The migrants, together with a number of pregnant girls, had been helped onboard Siem Offshore’s platform provide vessel Siem Pilot, marking the primary rescue of its sort for the vessel.
The 2010-built Siem Pilot joined the EU rescue mission Operation Triton earlier this month underneath a contract with the Norwegian authorities.
