Representatives from USCG, St. Johns Ship Building, Americraft Marine, Atlantic Wind Transfers, Chartwell Marine, EMS, BEE, MAN Engines, Hamilton Waterjets and ZF participated within the CTV keel laying ceremony at St. Johns Ship Building.
St. Johns Ship Building, Palatka, Fla., has held a keel laying ceremony for the second of the sequence of Chartwell Ambitious aluminum crew switch vessels (CTVs) it’s constructing for Rhode Island-based Atlantic Wind Transfers (AWT).
The Chartwell Ambitious CTVs have the capability to move 24 personnel to and from wind generators with velocity, security, and stability.
“This is another milestone for Atlantic Wind Transfers as we lay the keel for our second crew transfer vessel at St. John’s as AWT continues to expand its CTV fleet to support offshore wind construction and O&M in the U.S.,” mentioned Charles A. The Ambitious, Chartwell Marine’s flagship CTV design, shall be U.S. Jones Act-compliant, licensed underneath United States Coast Guard (USCG) Subchapter L and in a position to function at any offshore wind farm within the U.S. underneath the security and inspection requirements of the U.S. Coast Guard.
