
Transocean’s Five High-Spec Jackups Delayed at Keppel
Offshore drilling contractor Transocean says it has reached a take care of Singaporean rigbuilder Keppel to delay the supply and funds of 5 high-specification jackup drilling rigs till 2020.
The 5 Super B 400 Bigfoot Class rigs have been ordered in 2013 and due for supply starting within the first quarter of 2016 adopted by one supply each 4 months.
The rigs are actually scheduled to be delivered in two and three month intervals starting within the first quarter of 2020.
Transocean ordered the rigs in 2013 for a price of $1.1 billion excluding curiosity.
The Super B 400 Bigfoot Class jackup is a propriety design by Keppel FELS that may function in water depths as much as 400 ft and drill to wells as much as 35,000 ft. The rigs are configured with Transocean-developed options together with offline tubular dealing with capabilities, superior jacking and preload capabilities, a versatile mud system, and simultaneous operations help, in accordance Transocean.
