Wärtsilä Joint Venture to Supply Gensets for Five COSCO Newbuilds

Finnish marine energy options supplier Wärtsilä says it has been chosen to provide 20 producing units for 5 newbuild 14,500 TEU containerships being inbuilt China for China Ocean Shipping Group.

The producing units for COSCO shall be produced on the WYEC three way partnership services.

WYEC’s formation was a part of Wärtsilä’s technique to extend its competitiveness within the Asian markets and its deal with the offshore and particular segments in China, the world’s largest shipbuilding nation.

In September, WYEC inaugurated its new manufacturing facility in Doumen District, Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province, China, overlaying a complete space of 266,700 sq. meters.
