Wärtsilä Joint Venture to Supply Gensets for Five COSCO Newbuilds
Finnish marine energy options supplier Wärtsilä says it has been chosen to provide 20 producing units for 5 newbuild 14,500 TEU containerships being inbuilt China for China Ocean Shipping Group.

Under the contract, WYEC will provide a complete of twenty Wärtsilä Auxpac 32, the auxiliary engine model of the favored Wärtsilä 32 household. The Auxpac 32 is out there in a 6, 7, 8 or 9 cylinder configuration and is ready to function on completely different fuels, starting from the bottom LFO viscosity of two.0 cSt to an HFO viscosity of 700 cSt (at 50 °C), in addition to low and extremely low sulphur gasoline oils (<0.01% S).

The producing units for COSCO shall be produced on the WYEC three way partnership services.
WYEC’s formation was a part of Wärtsilä’s technique to extend its competitiveness within the Asian markets and its deal with the offshore and particular segments in China, the world’s largest shipbuilding nation.
In September, WYEC inaugurated its new manufacturing facility in Doumen District, Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province, China, overlaying a complete space of 266,700 sq. meters. The manufacturing facility shall be used for the meeting and testing of Wärtsilä 20, Wärtsilä 26 and Wärtsilä 32 medium velocity engines and is anticipated to be in full manufacturing earlier than the tip of 2016.
