MARCH 8, 2017 — Coast Guard crews are coordinating salvage efforts for an offshore service vessel aground off the west Cameron Jetties, Cameron Parish, LA.
At 7:20 a.m. as we speak Vessel Traffic Service Port Arthur, Texas, personnel overheard that the Miss Lynda, a 120-foot offshore provide vessel, had run aground. Marine Safety Unit Lake Charles incident response personnel deployed with Station Lake Charles boat crews to analyze the injury and decide the perfect methodology of salvage.
There had been no accidents to the 4 passengers and three crew aboard the ship, and no air pollution was reported. The salvage firm continues to be being decided.
The 4 passengers had been transited off of the ship by the Sally D, a utility ship. The three crew members remained on the Miss Lynda.
The ship was carrying development cargo and had 4,300 gallons of gasoline and 100 gallons of oil merchandise aboard. Damage to the ship was reported 5 ft above the waterline, and the ship didn’t tackle any water.
There has been no impression to visitors within the Calcasieu Ship Channel.
