JULY 27, 2014 — The wreck of the cruise ship Costa Crociere has arrived safely in Genoa, Italy, for recycling. Preparatory operations for its entry into the port started at 5.00 a.m. this morning native time when harbor pilots boarded the ship.
Complex mooring operations started with transfering the towage and dealing with of the vessel from the Resolve Earl and Blizzard, the 2 tugboats that introduced the vessel to Genoa, to harbor tugs.
Later, Costa Crociere CEO Michael Thamm went onboard the wreck to satisfy with senior salvage grasp Nick Sloane of Titan Salvage and his staff.
