Edda Wind’s not too long ago delivered Edda Boreas Commissioning Service Operation Vessel (CSOV) has began the contract to assist commissioning operations on the world’s largest offshore wind farm – the Dogger Bank Offshore Wind Farm within the UK – for the subsequent two years. 

The large Dogger Bank offshore wind farm is being in-built three consecutive 1.2GW phases; Dogger Bank A, Dogger Bank B, and Dogger Bank C. 

SSE Renewables is main the event and development of Dogger Bank Wind Farm, whereas Equinor will function the wind farm on completion for its anticipated operational lifetime of round 35 years.

According to the shipowner, the Edda Boreas vessel, which might accommodate as much as 95 offshore wind technicians at any time, will probably be an important software for the commissioning of the offshore wind farm. 

“It will enable year-round operations in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring that installation targets for the wind farm will be reached,”Edda Wind mentioned.

Edda Boreas is of Salt 0217 design and construct quantity C490 from Gondan Shipbuilders in Spain. The vessel is 88.3 meters lengthy, with a beam of 19.7 meters. It can accommodate 120 individuals in high-standard cabins.

Following the Edda Boreas supply, Edda Wind now has 5 vessels in operation, with one other 9 vessels but to come back. 

Under the present fleet enlargement program, Edda Wind’s fleet will comprise ten vessels by 2025.

According to MarineTraffic, the Edda Boreas is at present moored within the Port of Middlesborough, the place it arrived from Denmark on Sunday, July 2, 2023.
