Fire on Bulker Temporarily Suspends Traffic on the Dardanelles
Turkey’s Directorate General of Coastal Safety reported that site visitors on the strategic Dardanelles Strait was briefly suspended throughout the response to an engine room fireplace on a bulker. The fireplace was believed to have begun within the engine room. Smoke might be seen coming from the 352-foot (107.5-meter) vessel which was stopped within the essential waterway.
