Japan’s first dual-fuel LNG bunkering vessel KEYS Azalea has accomplished its first ship-to-ship LNG bunkering in Western Japan.
The vessel – owned and operated by KEYS Bunkering West Japan Corporation, a three way partnership established by Kyushu Electric Power, NYK Line, Itochu Enex, and Saibu Gas – bunkered LNG for the automobile and truck service Daisy Leader 2 on the Port of Hiroshima
KEYS Azalea was delivered to KEYS Bunkering West Japan Corporation earlier in April. It is supplied with a dual-fuel engine that may function on each LNG and gasoline oil.
The LNG gasoline equipped to Daisy Leader was shipped from the Tobata LNG terminal of Kitakyushu LNG.
KEYS Bunkering West Japan Corporation mentioned it should proceed to supply protected and secure LNG bunkering within the western Japan area and contribute to forming a carbon-neutral society and creating the LNG bunkering enterprise in Japan.
LNG gasoline affords glorious environmental efficiency in contrast with conventional marine fuels. It is predicted to be a bridge answer for decarbonization, nearly eliminating sulfur oxide (SOx) emissions and decreasing roughly 80% of nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions and 30% of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
