Philippine Coast Guard Rescues Crew from Ship After Cargo Shifts in Storm
The crew of a small common cargo ship working within the Philippines was rescued after their ship started itemizing in a storm within the southern Philippines within the Sulu Sea. The crew was rescued and delivered to shore.
According to the media stories, the Star Sabang (500 dwt) started itemizing after encountering heavy waves and winds on the west aspect of the island of Mindanao. The vessel which is 321 ft (98 meters) in size was off Bayangan Island when in response to the captain they had been hit by big waves and robust wind.

The Coast Guard stories the vessel was carrying 170 tons of cement from Cebu to Zamboanga. The 13 crewmembers had been rescued and brought to the island whereas they had been persevering with to watch the vessel.
