Rovco, a UK-based subsea robotics and survey agency, has added a second hull mounted survey vessel to its fleet with the long-term constitution of the DP2 vessel Glomar Worker.
The four-year constitution with Glomar is available in response to shopper demand for modern geophysical and geotechnical survey options, in line with the corporate.
Rovco has began the conversion of the sister vessel to the already contracted Glomar Supporter, already under long-term charter.
After completion of those position particular upgrades, the vessel will launch as a specialised and devoted geophysical survey asset to serve the offshore wind market.
Rovco’s latest survey vessel will likely be outfitted with a hull mounted gondola and the very best specification sensor package deal, together with extra stern and starboard A-Frames to permit deployment of specialist towed survey gear and multi sensor towing.
Worker and her sister, Supporter, will now each allow full web site knowledge seize with seamless integration throughout knowledge units for temporal comparisons. Starlink and VSAT ship to ship and ship to shore communications will allow stay streaming for actual time choice making and the motion of some roles onshore.
The Worker may even be outfitted with an Autonomous Surface Vessel (ASV) working as a power multiplier.
Both vessels have completely mobilized WROVs, enabling the completion of survey and inspection duties in subject, with out return to port or the necessity for added vessels in subject.
“Our objective is to facilitate the offshore wind sector through the development and deployment of automated offshore wind services that aid the engineering, design construction, maintenance and performance of offshore wind farms,” stated Marc Coull, Rovco’s Director of Operations and Maintenance.
