India’s delivery ministry will observe overseas ministry recommendation when deciding whether or not to permit a ship carrying Russian oil that has been positioned underneath U.S. sanctions to berth at an Indian port, the nation’s delivery regulator stated.
The United States on Thursday imposed sanctions on three maritime firms and three vessels owned by them for delivery Russian oil offered above a worth cap imposed by the Group of Seven nations, as Washington seeks to shut loopholes within the mechanism designed to punish Moscow for its warfare in Ukraine.
“The port entry rule does not specifically debar a vessel from berthing at any port,” Shyam Jagannathan, director basic of the Directorate General of Shipping advised reporters at an business occasion.

“If they tell me that the vessel is to be barred, I will communicate it to the port authority”.
