A vessel travelling 50 nautical miles southeast of Yemen’s metropolis of Aden reported on Friday two explosions within the sea forward of it, however the vessel and crew have been reported as protected, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) stated.
Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi group has launched drone and missile assaults on transport within the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandab Strait and Gulf of Aden since November. They say they’re appearing in solidarity with Palestinians over the conflict in Gaza.
UKMTO stated earlier that the authorities have been investigating the incident whereas safety agency Ambrey stated it was conscious of an incident practically 52 nautical miles south of Aden and was additionally investigating.
