Edda Accommodation Cancels Delayed Newbuild at Hyundai Heavy Industries
Edda Accommodation says it has determined to cancel its order for a newbuild lodging vessel at Hyundai Heavy Industries attributable to intensive delays.
The vessel, which was to be named Edda Fortis, was ordered in March 2014 with supply initially scheduled for June 2015.
At the time of its order, the 155-meter vessel was described as a next-generation lodging vessel with lodging capability of 800 folks and an inside design generally known as “executive standard”, with 850 sq. meters of workplace area, a contemporary health club, sauna, two swimming swimming pools, convention rooms and an auditorium.
The vessel was ordered based mostly on the success of Edda Accommodation’s first vessel, Edda Fides, which was delivered in 2011 and is the world’s solely monohulled, DP3 lodging vessel. The vessel is operated by Østensjø Rederi, a Norwegian marine companies group that specializes within the offshore and towage markets.
Fortunately for Hyundai Heavy the vessel seems to be virtually full, so it might doubtlessly be a fairly whole lot for somebody needing to accommodate 800 folks offshore. Here it’s pictured in what have to be the waters off Ulsan:
