LNG Carrier Collides with VLCC Off Fujairah, UAE– AIS Animation
A Shipping Corporation of India LNG provider rammed a large unrefined provider at a Fujairah anchorage in the United Arab Emirates on Sunday night, resulting a significant damages to the oil vessel.
AIS video clip of the crash reveals the 155,000 cbm,Maltese- flagged LNG provider Aseem struck the port side of the 281,400 dwt, Hong Kong- flagged Shinyo Ocean as both vessels were steering with the anchorage around 2000 UTC on 24 March 2019.
Photos of the Shinyo Ocean reveals a substantial gouge in the portside hull near the bow.
Both ships stay at support off Fujairah since Tuesday.
The Aseem was gone to Qatargas’ Ras Laffan LNG terminal when the crash took place.

No word on any type of air pollution arising from the occurrence.
The Aseem, integrated in 2009, is majority-owned by Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) and also hired to Petronet LNG.
The reason for the crash is under examination.
