Salvaged Crewboat ‘Diamond Edge’ Heads for Repairs
A crewboat broken in a collision with a liftboat off the Louisiana coast earlier this month has been salvaged and is heading to a shipyard for repairs.
On Friday, Jewel Marine’s Diamond Edge crewboat was noticed aboard a barge in Bayou Lafourche in direction of a restore facility in Louisiana.
The steel-hulled crewboat was broken and partially sank after colliding with a Halliburton-owned liftboat off Freshwater Bayou within the Gulf of Mexico on March 2, 2015. The incident left the crewboat with a gap in its stern, inflicting it to partially submerge in roughly 9 ft of water.
None of the 4 crewmembers aboard the crew had been injured within the accident.
