
MHI-MME fin stabilizer
Finland’s Helsinki Shipyard has now began ordering gear and supplies for 2 113-meter luxurious expedition vessels on order for Russian operator Voldohod, with Japan’s Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Marine Machinery & Equipment Co., Ltd. (MHI-MME) receiving orders for 2 retractable fin stabilizers for the 157-passenger vessels.
MHI-MME says that each fin stabilizers are scheduled for supply to Helsinki Shipyard by the primary half of 2021.
These vessels might be used for Polar cruises from Europe to the North and South Poles, relying on the season. The fin stabilizers will scale back the roll of the vessels at sea and assist present a cushty voyage for passengers.
MHI-MME says that is the primary fin-stabilizer order it has booked from Europe since a 2008 order from Aker Yards.
“For a long time, our company was mainly focusing on projects in Japan and other Asian countries, but over the past few years we have improved our production capacity and worked to expand our sales channels to Europe and other regions,” says MHI-MME.
“With the global increase in the demand for cruise tours, there has been an increase in the building of cruise ships and ROPAX vessels,” says the corporate, noting that it’s going to use the Helsinki Shipyard order as a springboard “and continue to carry out proactive sales negotiations for ROPAX, RO-RO and other vessels in not only Japan and Asia but also Europe.”
