Yanmar Power Technology Co., Ltd. (Yanmar PT), a subsidiary of Yanmar Holdings Co., Ltd, has made its first supply of its newly commercialized maritime hydrogen gas cell system, launched in August 2023. This system was provided to the passenger ship Hanaria, operated by MOTENA-Sea, an organization backed by Mitsui O.S.Okay. Lines, Ltd. and different buyers.
The Hanaria is Japan’s first hybrid passenger ship to make use of each hydrogen and biodiesel. The vessel operates with an onboard electrical propulsion system that powers the ship’s drive utilizing generated electrical energy. Yanmar PT took cost of the ship’s complete energy system design, incorporating two hydrogen gas cells, batteries, biodiesel mills, energy administration system, propulsion tools, distant monitoring, and different parts.
In addition, when working solely on the hydrogen gas cell system and batteries, the ship creates zero emissions, with notable reductions in energy supply vibrations and noise, and the elimination of exhaust gasoline odors.
