Damen Naval has contracted RENK to provide the gearbox methods for the brand new anti-submarine warfare (ASW) frigates.
The Dutch shipyard is constructing 4 new frigates, two every for the Royal Netherlands Navy and the Belgian navy.
The contract consists of eight gearboxes which are a part of the CODLAD (COmbined Diesel-eLectric And Diesel) propulsion system.
RENK’s Dutch subsidiary Schelde Gears will present assist in design and repair actions.
The first gearboxes are on account of arrive for set up in October 2025, whereas the primary of the ASW frigates is scheduled for supply by Damen Naval in 2028.
