Brunvoll has obtained an order for the supply of propulsion and manoeuvring packages for Windward Offshore‘s new Commissioning Service Operation Vessels (CSOVs). The order is for 2 vessels, with two extra vessels as an possibility.
Windward’s new vessels may have two propulsion azimuth thrusters within the aft, and two retractable azimuth thrusters and a tunnel thruster within the bow. All azimuth thrusters function the most recent and best enhancements to satisfy the more and more stricter necessities for fast, secure, and correct DP operations for SOVs/CSOVs. This consists of considerably improved rotation velocity, quicker propeller acceleration, and preparations for elevated thrust effectivity when it comes to diminished thruster and hull interplay.
With 4 highly effective and responsive azimuth thrusters, the vessels must be ideally outfitted on the subject of operational necessities, DP accuracy, and total efficiency. The vessels, that are of VARD 4 19-design, can be roughly 87 x 19.5 meters with a capability of 120 folks. The design is optimized for low gasoline consumption, excessive operability, and luxury.
The first hull can be constructed at VARD’s yard in Romania and outfitted at one in every of VARD’s yards in Norway. The second vessel can be constructed and delivered from Vard Vung Tau in Vietnam. The first CSOV for Windward Offshore is scheduled to be delivered within the second half of 2025.
“The offshore wind segment has really pushed the development of our thrusters in the last couple of years, and it is nice to see the synergies of the work that has been put down by everyone in the Brunvoll value chain,” says Bernt Rune Riksfjord, VP Sales at Brunvoll.
