Green Instruments A/S and Danish Technological Institute have developed a real-time flue fuel sensor expertise – The Extinction-Minus-Scattering (EMS) measurement technique – to precisely measure black carbon emissions from ships, a tech which could possibly be instrumental in assembly rising regulatory calls for of the delivery trade for black carbon emission requirements.
The EMS technique permits real-time in-situ measurement capabilities, traceability, and lowered possession prices, tackling important hurdles of current emission monitoring strategies.
The ‘Black Carbon Sensor for Continuous Measurement on Ships’ undertaking is supported by the Danish Ministry of Environment’s MUDP grant. It is a cooperative effort between Green Instruments, DFDS, MOL Chemical Tankers, Danske Rederier, Danske Maritime, and Danish Technological Institute.
